Truly Rich Recommendations: Kindermusik with Teacher Suzette and Friends

Our son, Timothy, recently started attending the Young Child program of Kindermusik with Teacher Suzette and Friends. Classes started in November, and so far, he, and our whole family actually, have been SO BLESSED by the experience! ;-)
For ages 5-7 years ;-)

The truth is, ever since I first learned about Kindermusik (KM from here onwards) from friends (through Facebook, of course!), I'd been wanting to enroll Tim there (we only had one child back then). However, two major things hindered this from happening: (1) We were based in Timor on mission; (2) As lay missionaries, we simply couldn't afford it!

When we finally returned to Manila for good, I was even contemplating on studying to be a Kindermusik educator.  However, I ditched those plans for basically the same reason we couldn't enroll Tim in classes, even if we were already based in Manila - our finances wouldn't allow it at the time! KM just became a "dream" for us - something we hoped for, but didn't really consider a priority. After all, figuring out how to pay for all our monthly expenses was more than enough to keep us busy! ;-)

Fast forward to last year. I was talking to a dear friend and fellow homeschool mom whose kids are enrolled with KM, and who studied to be a KM educator herself. She suggested we try letting Tim attend a trial class with Teacher Suzette Kho, a KM educator known for granting scholarships to families "in need" (fellow mommy bloggers Michelle and Neva have blogged about her advocacy in detail before here and here respectively, so I won't "reinvent the wheel," so to speak, and just let you read their posts! He, he!).
Meet the super-nice-and-friendly Teacher Suzette Kho. ;-)

Since Tim had just turned 5 at the time, we attended the trial class for two age groups, the "Imagine That" class for 3-5 yr olds, and the "Young Child" class for 5-7 yr olds.

Tim eventually chose the "Young Child" class taught by Teacher Sharon Marasigan, and Teacher Suzette graciously agreed to grant us a partial scholarship with very flexible payment terms - WHOOPEE! Praise God! ;-)
Fun with bells! ;-)
FUN with drums! ;-)
So far, Tim's only missed two KM sessions since we enrolled him in the program. The first time was because he had to dance as an angel at the Couples for Christ Leaders (CFC) Conference at the Araneta Coliseum, and the second time was when we went to Baguio for the CFC Mission Core Magnificat Weekend Retreat. :-) Teacher Suzette and Teacher Sharon ARE ALWAYS SUPER NICE and very supportive of our homeschooling and other activities, even if it means Tim sometimes misses lessons. It's a good thing KM offers make-up classes for missed sessions! :-)

I personally LOVE how Kindermusik has enriched our lives, and has helped Tim discover and hone his musical talents! I actually was quite the proud TeacherMama when, after Tim's first session, his teachers asked me if this was really the first time he'd attended KM. They said he picked up things taught in the class pretty quickly, and already seemed to know some of the concepts! (Thank you, Brainy Baby Music and Little Einsteins, perhaps?! LOL!)

Also, it helps in the "socialization" aspect that most people think is an issue with us homeschooling families (believe me, IT'S NOT! Read up and be informed please - these articles here and here, for starters) - he gets to be with people both younger AND older than him, which is usually what happens when one is homeschooled anyway. ;-)
Even if the class is supposed to be for 5-7 yr olds, Tim has a 9-yr old and a 3-yr old for classmates! ;-)
This is socialization among different levels, and I LOVE IT!
Another PLUS is we have SO MUCH FUN during KM sessions! Tim LOVES his classes, and I enjoy observing each class, and joining in when needed! And, because each student is provided with home materials, including a CD of songs used in class, we get to "take home" our KM experience and share it with the whole family! Rysse's face usually lights up when we put on her Kuya's KM CD, and she and Tim, more often than not, start dancing and swaying to the music once they hear it.
Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of KM! ;-)

Needless to say then, I highly recommend Kindermusik with Teacher Suzette and Friends to all families out there! ;-) The program will definitely be worth investing in, as it will really enrich your child's life, and yours as well. That's why I'm also honored to promote Teacher Suzette's program here on my blog, as one of my very first blog sponsors! :-) HURRAY! ;-) What a blessing it has been for all of us!
